(Ken Gire, Windows of the Soul)
Let not thy will roar, when thy power but can whisper.
(Thomas Fuller)
They miss the whisper that runs
any day in your mind, “Who are you really wanderer?”
and the answer you have to give
no matter how dark and cold
the world around you is:
“Maybe I’m a king.”
(William Stafford)
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.
(The Beatles)
Maybe the still small voice we are waiting to hear is already whispering in the details of our lives – especially the details we wish would go away and leave us alone.
(Thomas Schmidt, A Scandalous Beauty)
The voice of the Lord is upon the waters, the God of glory thunders, the Lord is over many waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful, the voice of the Lord is majestic. The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars, yes, the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon…The voice of the Lord hews out flames of fire. The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness, the Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. The voice of the Lord makes the deer to calve and strips the forest bare, and in the Lord’s temple everything says, ‘Glory!’
(Psalm 29: 3-5, 7-9)
Be still and know that I am God.
(Psalm 46:10)
And these are but the outer fringe of God’s works; how faint the whisper we hear of God! Who then can understand the thunder of God’s power?”
(Job 26:14)

Thank you for this post. I usually find myself so distracted & preoccupied by my own voices that I dont have room for God’s whispers. So this is a great reminder.
