Sacred Art Inspired by Eve
Artist Callahan McDonough and I are collaborating to create and curate a collection of 30 unique (and gorgeous) paintings inspired by my writings. Our passion and heart’s desire: to re-imagine, redeem, and reclaim stories of women in Scripture.
Eve was where we had to begin.
Callahan listened to me muse and wonder and exegete Eve’s story. She took notes. She felt deeply. And then she visualized what she heard me say; what she understood as the poignant and powerful themes and elements of Eve’s story – archetype, goddess, and guide. The day she sent me the photograph was not unlike seeing that first ultrasound image of a new baby. And the day she sent me the 18×24 Giclee print, I felt like I was holding that child in my arms (without the labor). Read some of my writing about Eve.
Ronna: I experience profound affirmation from you and your writing. I feel seen and not alone…and this goodness brings me back to myself. Next came Extravagant
This is the story of a woman whose actions are told in all four Gospels in the New Testament (this, in and of itself, shocking and nearly unbelievable). She is incredible, strong, and full of desire (much like Eve). Her story is worth knowing. And…her story is also yours. Read more of my writing about this woman.

Now, introducing Elizabeth
The woman to whom Mary turned when pregnant with Jesus. The woman whose own yet-unborn child leaped within her upon seeing Mary. The woman who consoled, supported, and loved Mary. The woman who blessed Mary. The woman who blesses you – even now. Read some of my writing about Elizabeth.
