It’s 5:40 p.m. and I’m sitting in a coffee shop in North Seattle. I’ve never been here before and I may not ever be here again, but today, drinking an iced caramel latte and catching up on email before heading to an event at 7:00, I feel rest-full, at peace, grateful, and aware. This is one of those lovely moments…
Smooth jazz is playing in the background. An old man, hooked up to oxygen and a walker is sitting at the outside seating, watching cars and an odd sundry of people go by. There is no one else in the cafe. I can hear my fingers on my keyboard (a sound I not-so-secretly love). This is one of those lovely moments…
I bet there are zillions of these happening around me each and every day. I bet I am consistently sitting in a particular place, surrounded by particular scenes and people, but don’t stop long enough to breathe, to rest, to actually see. But for now, today, at Seattle Mobile Espresso, I am aware. This is one of those lovely moments…
And rather than hope that there be many, many more, I hope that I will notice and acknowledge the zillions in my midst at all times.
Lovely moments everywhere, all the time.
