Not writing. Resting. Tired.

I feel like I haven’t written a substantial post for days, which may actually be true.

I’ve been prepping for and promoting my now-completed teleseminar on Telling the Truth. I’ve been collecting the thoughts and reflections from all of you on “feminism,” “feminine,” and “feminist.” I’ve promoted Danielle’s newly released Firestarter Sessions.

All of these are legitimate. But today, as I sit before this screen, I feel the weight, the pressure, the need to write something fresh, substantial, meaty, meaningful.

And I’m tired.

There is no lack of content, inspiration, or even desire. There is a need for rest.

It’s what my head and heart most need.

It’s my truth-telling for today.

I think I’ll listen.

Feel free to dig through five years of archived posts if you want something more. Or, take a rest as well. I’m sure it’s more than deserved.

I’ll be back tomorrow.

Rest well! My truth is I have been overscheduled recently. If it not me personally, it is one of my kids and it is starting to drive me to distraction. My solution – while not originally for this issue – is I am leaving Sunday morning and going to Boston to watch a friend run Monday’s marathon.

It’s easy to do, isn’t it, Nicki: the overscheduling? And at least for me, almost always good things! I love being busy, involved, connected. But sometimes it just catches up and rather than energize further, begins to drain me. Yesterday a case in point. Better today already! Have a GREAT weekend! And Boston? How fabulous is that?!?

Rest, recovery, recuperation, rejuvenation. All required in larger quantities than most of us are willing to admit. Without them, our bodies, souls and minds become over-trained – unable to grow and expand. With rest comes increased strength, ability, focus, balance, and, above all (or because of all), happiness. Enjoy the work your body is doing silently while you rest! (and so glad that I’ve finally discovered your blog!)

Hugs and butterflies,
~T~

Absolutely! And I’m also simultaneously aware that often, when I’m doing the things I most love – even when hard work – I am at rest. That’s a good sign! (And I’m so glad you’ve discovered my blog, as well!)
